VEON, a prominent global digital operator and the parent company of Banglalink, has recently attained an ‘AA’ Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) rating from Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI). MSCI, a leading provider of decision support tools for the global investment community, highlighted this significant achievement in a press release.
“ESG” stands for three factors fundamental to corporate accountability and sustainable performance: environmental, social and governance. There’s a whole industry that tracks and analyzes how well companies do on ESG factors, with the aim of informing investors who might want to buy assets that align with their personal values.
As we get closer to a global recession, the coming months in 2023 will test whether companies in Bangladesh – and around the world – will keep their commitments to Sustainability, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The apex apparel body, BGMEA, has taken an initiative to develop a digital database on ESG (environment, social and governance) to help achieve its 20 sustainable strategic goals by 2030.
