The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has committed $400 million to support Bangladesh’s ‘Climate Resilient Inclusive Development Program- Subprogram1’.
The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors has approved $900 million to support Bangladesh in strengthening its fiscal and financial sector policies and improving urban infrastructure for sustainable and climate-resilient growth.
The fishing village of Dokkhin Mohra, also known as Kalurghat Fisherman’s Village (Jelepara), has seen a dramatic transformation. Frequent flooding from the Karnaphuli River once threatened its 1,500 residents, but the National Urban Poverty Reduction Programme (NUPRP), also known as the Livelihoods Improvement of Urban Poor Communities Project (LIUPCP), has provided a lifeline.
