Acteus CEO Reaffirms Commitment to Supporting Acid Attack Survivors
Acid attacks in Bangladesh, often stemming from land disputes, primarily result in injuries to the neck and back, according to a publication by the Society of Surgeons of Bangladesh. One such survivor, Basana Rani from Palashbari upazila in Gaibandha, was attacked by her brother-in-law due to jealousy over land management responsibilities. The attack left her with severe burn injuries that have caused her persistent pain for 20 years.
