Also in attendance were BKMEA Executive President Mohammad Hatem, President of the National Garment Workers Federation (NGWF) and RSC Co-Chair Amirul Haque Amin, RSC Director Nafis-Ud-Doula, and Joachim Jutte-Overmeyer of CSR Fashion. Representatives from RSC-enlisted garment factories, along with high-ranking officials, department heads, and senior case handlers, participated in the meeting held on April 30.
The discussions focused on the RSC’s activities and progress, particularly the implementation of remediation measures across factories to maintain workplace safety standards. Attendees exchanged views, addressed queries, and reinforced the RSC’s commitment to fostering a culture of safety and compliance within Bangladesh’s RMG industry.
BGMEA President S. M. Mannan (Kochi) praised RMG entrepreneurs for their substantial investments in workplace safety, highlighting Bangladesh’s role as a global leader in safe and sustainable industry practices. He reiterated the commitment of Bangladesh’s RMG sector to continue building on the safety advancements achieved over the past 11 years.
The RSC, a collaborative effort of the Bangladesh industry, global brands, and trade unions, continues to serve as a key safety monitoring body in the RMG sector.
