P.o.T has installed 36 rainwater harvesting systems in 36 different households to ensure the availability of clean drinking water and sustainable water management.

The system has been appreciated by the Department of Public Health Engineering.

The pH and TDS levels are monitored on a regular basis to guarantee that the water is safe to drink.

Now each family can preserve 2000 litres of drinking water for the dry season. They don’t have to drink arsenic-contaminated tube well water and they are very delighted about that.

Mr Kapil Deb, Quality Executive, P.o.T says, Gunari is a rural village in Dacope Upazila, Khulna district, where most tube well water is tainted with arsenic and pond water is extremely salty, making it unsuitable for human consumption.

He further added, the sole safe supply of drinking water is rain. They do not have a sufficient rain water management system. They must consume arsenic-contaminated water when it does not rain, especially during the summer. As a result, the residents suffer from waterborne diseases.
