The mobile financial wing of the Postal Department donated 600 Personal Protective Equipment, 1,000 pieces of sanitizers, and 4,000 KN95 masks to the hospital authorities.
Nagad executive director Md Shafayet Alam handed over the materials to BSMMU vice-chancellor professor Md Sharfuddin Ahmed at the university premises.
Md Sharfuddin Ahmed thanked Nagad for its initiative and said, ‘In this pandemic giving such gifts for the protection of the doctors and nurses is a noble gesture by Nagad. These personal protection materials will help us and undoubtedly will protect our doctors and nurses. He also expressed hope that Nagad would continue this type of activities in future.’
Nagad executive director Shafayet said that during the Covid situation, every member of Nagad was proud of being with such a prestigious organization like BSMMU.
He pledged to the BSMMU authority to keep such activities in the future and also urged the authority to incorporate Nagad into its social welfare activities.
BSMMU pro-VC (administration) professor AKM Mosharraf Hossain, pro-VC (academic) professor Mohd Zahid Hussain, pro-VC (research & development) professor Muhammad Rafiqul Alam, director (hospital) Brigadier General Md Nazrul Islam Khan, treasurer professor Mohammed Atiqur Rahman also attended the event.
Nagad head of external affairs retired lieutenant colonel Md Kousar Soukat Ali, head of LEA retired lieutenant colonel Mohammad Hasan-Ur-Rashid Been Mosharrof, general manager LEA retired DIG M Mahbub Alam and deputy general manager of external affairs retired squadron leader Asma Alamgir, among others, were also present in the occasion.
