When the pandemic hit the country last year, around 3.41 million affected families received this support as PM’s Eid Gifts through various Mobile Financial Services (MFS) like Nagad, bKash and Rocket.

Of the BDT834.73 million to be distributed this year, 1.5 million families will get Eid gifts through Nagad (44.83%), 1.05 million families would be provided financial support by bKash (31.57%), 788,000 families through Rocket (23%). Each beneficiary family will receive BDT2,500 just like last year’s CoVid-19 Lockdown.

Each MFS will charge BDT15 for rendering the services to each individual this year.

Apart from distributing financial support to those families who lost their jobs due to Covid-19, the Ministry of Agriculture is actively considering to provide cash support of BDT5,000 to each affected farmer of 36 districts affected by natural disasters on April 4.
