MTB Foundation Recognized for Environmental Efforts in Barguna

MTB Foundation has been honored by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Patharghata Upazila in Barguna, Barishal for its outstanding role and dedication to environmental initiatives in the region. Md Shahabuddin Panna, Director of Nazrul Smriti Sangsad, presented the award to Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director and CEO of Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB).

The ceremony was attended by Rais Uddin Ahmad, Deputy Managing Director and CAMLCO of the Bank, and Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer of MTB Foundation.

The recognition underscores MTB Foundation’s commitment to community development and environmental stewardship, focusing on sustainable and impactful solutions to address the challenges faced by marginalized communities in Barguna.

In celebration of World Environment Day 2024, MTB Foundation has launched an initiative to construct a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) for the Charduani community in Patharghata, Barguna. This WTP will employ various treatment methods to ensure the provision of safe drinking water.

Additionally, MTB Foundation has distributed saplings and trees to numerous beneficiaries in the coastal region, reinforcing its commitment to environmental conservation and community well-being.
