School children of Habigonj School and College (on November 25th) and Mymensing Mukul Niketan School (on November 15th) participated in a workshop on tree plantation organized by IDLC with technical collaboration of Green Savers, at their school premises.

The workshop aimed to familiarize the students with rare plant species and sensitize them about their role in preservation of natural resources. Hundreds of students attended the event and took an oath to protect the environment. IDLC’s group Chief Marketing Officer Jane Alam Romel says, “We have taken this initiative to build an environmentally friendly mindset among our children. As a progressive and socially responsible organization, it is our duty to instill a sense of responsibility among them”. With the guidance received through the workshop, the children planted saplings and installed a rooftop Green Lab Garden which would play the role of a school lab for practical classes for students of Botany. Over 2,000 saplings were donated and planted by the children with direction from Green Savers and IDLC.
