Fresh Tissue Arranges Free Breast Screening Campaign

With International Women's Day 2022 in mind, Fresh Tissue launches a statewide awareness campaign with free breast screening activities in different districts of Bangladesh from a mobile clinic, accompanied by a doctor and a sonologist.

Fresh Tissue, a brand of Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), on Sunday launched a nationwide breast cancer awareness campaign- “Fresh Bangladesh” to raise awareness on breast cancer.

A limited number of free breast screening activities will be done during the specified day at the specific location in the specific district based on the online pre-registration.

The campaign was formally launched in the capital’s Gulshan hotel.

Media personality and social activist Shampa Reza, who has been raising awareness about breast cancer in Bangladesh for a long time, attended as adviser of the campaign.

Dr Sharmin Akter Sumi, a breast cancer survivor, and a specialist doctor were present as special guests.

Breast cancer affects around 2.1 million women globally each year, with more than 15,000 diagnosed in Bangladesh, according to WHO figures.

However, if caught early enough, lives can be saved with correct treatment, which requires knowledge.
