Dutch-Bangla Bank awarded scholarship to 4,032 students who passed SSC/Equivalent Examination in 2017 and studying at H.S.C level in different colleges of the country at a ceremony held at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium, Mirpur Circle-10, Dhaka on August 12, 2017. Mr. Abul Maal A. Muhith, MP, Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as the Chief Guest while the Honorable Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Anisul Huq, MP and the Honorable Governor of Bangladesh Bank Mr. Fazle Kabir were present as Special Guests and handed over the Scholarship Awarding Letters among the recipients. Mr. Sayem Ahmed, Honorable Chairman, Board of Directors of Dutch-Bangla Bank presided over the function.
Dutch-Bangla Bank, under its social cause program, has been awarding scholarship to the meritorious students in need of financial aid studying at Higher Secondary and Graduation levels. Under this initiative, a total number of 47,660 students got DBBL scholarship among which 18,168 students of different levels are receiving the scholarship at present.
In the program, a special dua mahfil was held on upcoming “National Mourning Day 2017” for salvation of the departed soul of Father of the Nation Banghabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with most of his family members who were brutally murdered by a military clique on August 15, 1975.
Hon’ble Minister, Mr. Abul Maal A. Muhith in his oration profusely lauded the scholarship program of Dutch-Bangla Bank and recalled other philanthropic activities of the Bank. He appreciated the DBBL’s continuous humanitarian and welfare activities and termed this Scholarship program as a unique example of helping the meritorious and needy students of the country. He expected that all the corporate bodies of the country would come forward with such programs for the benefit of the society. He congratulated the scholarship awardees and expected that they would dedicate themselves by achieving real education.
