The new initiative, ‘Amar Dawaat’, will provide upto 100 free meals per day from tea stalls across the city. The pilot project of 10 tea stalls in Dhaka has been successful.
Dhaka has hundreds of teastalls across the city and has been a source of cheap meals, snacks and communal gathering for day laborers and workers in the area. Over 80 lakh informal sector workers lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
