Md Atiqul Islam, Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation, graced the inaugural ceremony as chief guest, alongside Aziz Al Kaiser, Chairman of City Bank, who attended as special guest. The event was led by Barrister Omar Sadat, Director of Gulshan Society, and attended by Mashrur Arefin, Managing Director and CEO of City Bank, Major (Rtd) Shamsuddin Ahmed Chowdhury from Rajuk, and senior officials from the collaborating organizations.
City Bank, committed to its corporate social responsibility, has been actively addressing environmental concerns. In recent years, the bank has planted over one lakh trees across locations such as Mirshori Banga Bandhu Industrial City, Feni Economic Zone, and various schools. This year, the bank launched a Green Savings Account, promising to plant a tree for each new account opened. Moreover, it initiated a collaboration with Gulshan Society to plant 5000 trees and began efforts to restore local water bodies, aiming to revive their pristine conditions.
The tree plantation event underscores City Bank’s ongoing dedication to sustainability and community involvement, reinforcing its role in environmental stewardship across Bangladesh.
