The event was held at the Madhumati Auditorium of the Department of Social Services in Agargaon on Wednesday.
The support was aimed to provide the 1,786 women between the ages of 13 and 18 living in the 42 residential units of the Department of Social Services, সরকারি-শিশু-পরিবার. The residential unit is run by the Department of Social Services to care for young adults and children who lost their parents or has nowhere to turn to.
Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, owned by Salman F. Rahman, Private Industrial and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister, provided over 18 months’ supply of Joya sanitary napkins to support the girls living in the residential units.
In a handover ceremony in Dhaka, Director General of the Department of Social Services Sheikh Rafiqul Islam, present as the Chief Guest on the occasion, thanked all concerned, including Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, for taking the CSR Initiative to distribute reproductive health products.
The event also had the presence of Private Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser, Zahidul Islam Vina (Joint Secretary) as Special Guest and Rizvi Ul Kabir, Director (Marketing), Beximco Pharmaceuticals, Director of the Department of Social Services (Administration and Finance) Syed Mohammad, along with officials and employees of different levels of the social services department.
