BCB Provides Food to Student Volunteers Managing Traffic Near Mirpur Stadium

In response to the ongoing political unrest following Sheikh Hasina's resignation as Prime Minister, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has stepped in to support the students who have taken on the role of traffic controllers around Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

With regular law enforcement officers on strike and traffic police absent from the roads, students and volunteers from various institutions have stepped up to manage the flow of vehicles and prevent chaos at major intersections. To assist these dedicated individuals, the BCB’s media department distributed 250 food packets to the volunteers working tirelessly to keep traffic moving smoothly around the stadium.

These student volunteers are not only managing traffic signals but also ensuring road safety by addressing violations. Motorcyclists without helmets are given warnings, and those who disobey traffic rules face brief stops as a form of discipline. Additionally, the students are contributing to keeping the roads clean, further reducing the challenges faced by the community during this period of unrest.
