Khulna Tigers captain Anamul Haque Bijoy won the man of the match award after playing the match-winning innings against Fortune Barishal. And he gave the entire money of the man of the match as a donation to a cancer fighter. He is Zafarul Ehsan working as coach of BCB High Performance Unit. Besides, Khulna’s victory is also dedicated to him. 

After receiving the prize of BDT 1 lakh as the man of the match, Bijoy said,  “We had a conversation before the start of the match. Our Ehsan sir is now in the hospital, a cancer patient. We initially thought we would win this match and dedicate it to him. And we will contribute to the team’s man of the match. I am contributing this (man-of-the-match prize money) to him.”

Fortune Barishal got a huge capital of 187 runs with the bat of Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah Riyad. But Khulna chased this huge target in 18 overs, losing only 2 wickets. Bijoy left the field with victory after scoring 63 runs off 44 balls in the opening. Besides, Evin Lewis paved the way for victory with a cameo of 53 runs from 22 balls.

Bijoy gave Lewis the main credit for the win despite being the best of the match. He added, “You have seen the play of Lewis. In fact, it was Lewis who made the difference. We just carried the momentum. I feel like I just carried on. Lewis turned the game around. Chasing this run in Mirpur is not easy. But he finished the game.”
