Four out of every five cases brought before the courts by women in Bangladesh are related to violence, according to a joint research conducted by ActionAid Bangladesh and Jatiyo Nari Nirjaton Protirodh Forum. Female commuters in Bangladesh, in particular, report being harassed in some form or other, when using public transport such as buses. Dolonchapa is one of many recent private initiatives launched in the country in an attempt to address this issue.
