Under this program, government and non-government organizations from 18 areas received and planted the saplings in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Manikganj, Tangail, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Lalmonirhat, Natore, Kushtia, Jhenaidah, Meherpur, Jessore, Chittagong, Bandarban, Khagrachhari, Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Noakhali (Bhasanchar).
The ‘Bonayan’ project was launched in 1980 to address the effects of climate change and ensure adequate greening in Bangladesh, also planted 50 lakh saplings in compliance with hygiene regulations during the Covid-19 epidemic last year.
For 41 years, Bonayan has so far distributed 11 crore forest, fruit and medicinal trees free of cost. More than 30,000 people are benefiting from this every year.
